Lilayi, from Karastan's Soiree collection, is an abstract landscape in a rug: broad brushstrokes of smoky charcoal and taupe roll down into a pale cream ground, softly eroded to reveal a neutral striated base, with thin veins of gold and blush — dusted with shimmering viscose — catching the light like a horizon at dusk. It reads as a piece of art rather than a pattern, and stays calm and neutral from across the room. Woven in the USA of Karastan's SmartStrand yarn with viscose accents, in a high plush pile (about 1/2" to 3/4") that's soft underfoot, stain- and fade-resistant, and easy to vacuum. A 5'3" x 7'10" that suits a bedroom, office or living room with modern or transitional furniture. The Soiree collection is discontinued, so this rug is one of the last available.
